Portugal South Coast - Lisbon to Spanish Border

All the tourists seemed to be walking up the hill towards this impressive looking church so we head there too. Churches (as with castles and forts) are always built on high points so we wound our way up the zigzag of streets. It is the Church of Santa Maria Maior, Lisbon's Patriarchal Cathedral built in the 12th century.
